Sixth Form Curriculum

Canons Sixth Form provides opportunities for students to study, work hard and achieve their full potential, as well as enrichment opportunities for personal development. Sixth formers have  their own brand new Sixth Form Centre, with state-of-the-art facilities including their own common room and quiet study area, plus use of our Library, ICT Suites, Gym and Fitness Studio and other specialist areas.

As we are a part of the Harrow Collegiate the subjects that we offer are also supplemented by an extensive range of alternative subjects taught at our Collegiate partner schools. This effectively means that subject to timetable blocking, students have the opportunity to take one or more subjects off site.  Years 12 and 13 have the subjects listed below to choose from at Canons.  Subjects are reviewed on a yearly basis to ensure that we continue to meet student demand.

All the above are taught for 5 periods a week. 

Normally a student takes 4 subjects in Year 12 (AS) and has the option of completing either 3 or 4 of these in Year 13 (A2). Subject combinations can include a mixture of AS and BTEC qualifications. These are complemented by a full pastoral support programme to advise and engage students in careers, university applications, gap years and further planning. We also regularly invite guest speakers from our link universities who have expertise and insight in these areas. Various trips to outside institutions such as Cambridge are also organised.

It is expected that all students will be involved in extra-curricular activities in school and within the local community.
