Who is the course for?
Students who are interested in analysing and producing media products.
What can it lead to?
Careers in film and television production, advertising, radio, publishing, and the new media industries or study at university in theoretical or practical media subjects.
What are the entry requirements?
6 GCSE grades A*-C including English and Maths.
What will I study?
This course involves studying how the media communicates meaning to audiences. You'll develop practical and theoretical skills so that you can both analyse and create media productions. You'll learn how to analyse television, film, newspapers and magazines, as well as use the latest technology to make your own film, video, web, radio or magazine productions.
How will I be taught?
Through whole class teaching and practical exercises using a range of media.
How will I be assessed?
50% internally assessed coursework and 50% externally assessed examinations.
